POSITION SUMMARY
Maximize collection of accounts receivable while maintaining customer goodwill.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews aging reports on accounts receivable to determine appropriate collection efforts.
- Receives detailed information stored in computer regarding outstanding invoices and credits.
- Reconciles customer accounts.
- Investigates and resolves short payments and disputed charges.
- Creates extended payment contracts as approved by Credit Manager.
- Handles all small claims proceedings including filing and follow up.
- Seeks input from other departments when necessary.
- Discusses initial customers contact strategy with supervisor based on retrieved facts.
- Initiate written and phone communication with customer.
- Explains terms and provisions on both open accounts and contracts.
- Advises supervisor of additional action required (i.e., legal) on a case specific basis.
- Collects delinquent accounts
- Evaluates customer records and makes recommendations on customer accounts by viewing for extending credit limit, pursuing other collection actions based on payment history and purchase activity of customer or confers with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses.
- Interviews customers in person or by telephone to investigate complaints, or to correct errors in accounts.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Must have a valid California driver's license and clean DMV report.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally work in outside weather conditions and exposed to wet and / or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
