This position is responsible for providing truck engine and/or chassis repair service in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner. Must build rapport with customers through technical expertise and quality service on equipment so, that service value is received. This position requires a self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a high energy level who is able to work alone or with others in a shop environment. The hours for this position are from Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm.

Essential Functions
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses basic engine malfunctions and failures with supervision
- Performs basic engine and related equipment repairs on trucks and trailers with supervision
- Uses computers and related software to assist in diagnosing and reprogramming engines
- Completes documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition, and returns
- Interprets and utilizes information from operating, maintenance, online resources, and service manuals/bulletins
- Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Maintains all company equipment, tools, and the vehicle in good, clean, and working order
- Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
- Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance
- Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Demonstrates the ability to improve time in the disassembly, inspection, determining parts required, and reassembly of repairs
- General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical schooling preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of on-highway truck service required
- CDL – Class A or B preferred
- ASE – Medium/Heavy Truck Certification one or more preferred
- None
- Limited travel or overnight stays
- Travel to other stores that require help during times of heavy workloads may be expected
- Must own and maintain the necessary tools to efficiently perform the job
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- A significant amount of time spent standing
- Constant movement and use of hands, this position requires good manual dexterity
