Entry Level Diesel Technician - HOLT Truck Lease

HOLT Truck Lease of Houston - Hempstead views the service department as a vital part of the organization, and the way it builds open, honest, trusting relationships with customers and other departments is essential. The main objective of the Entry Level Service Technician/Fuel Island Attendant is performing schedule maintenance on units and to fuel and wash customer vehicles.

Accountabilities

• Perform unsupervised work as outlined with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Complete minor repairs
• Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
• Consult with Service Advisor about status of the vehicle repairs
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events and make recommendations for other technicians within the shop
• Document all work performed and recommended on a repair order using accepted language
• Ensure the customer's vehicles are kept clean. Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and recommend improvements for shop safety
• Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Identify issues with specialty tools and communicate to management. Make recommendations for tool replacement and inventory control
• Operate shop equipment safely, report safety issues, and recommend maintenance and repairs immediately to management
• Fuel and document the correct information for customer vehicles
• Wash and thoroughly clean trucks ensuring that clean and safe trucks are provided to all our customers
• Display work ethic it takes to ensure each job is done efficiently and completely
• Possesses great time management and organizational skills
• Be able to drive a vehicle and determine road worthiness
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as requested by manager

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical examination
• Must possess a current and valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while providing a superior customer service experience
• Must be neat in appearance, punctual, and a team player
• Possesses good communication skills
• Must be able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities and be responsive and flexible to best serve the issue at hand
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties of technician per organization requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Good organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Working knowledge of International Truck / IC Bus and supplier product
• Own a complete set of basic hand tools
