What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Specialist position at Holtec International?
Location : Camden, NJ; Krishna P Singh Technology Center Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for technical experts in its Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer department with the Company’s Corporate engineering division located at the Company's KPS Technology Campus in Camden, NJ. This department is the company's center of excellence in the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), supporting a number of Holtec subsidiaries including SMR, LLC which is engaged in designing Holtec’s flagship small nuclear reactor. Fluent, RELAP are amongst the most widely used codes in this department. Specialists in this department are engaged in the simulation of single phase and multi-phase fluid flows in a variety of components and systems in nuclear and solar power plants. In addition to Camden, CFD specialists are also located in Pune (India), Madid (Spain) and Bristol (UK) with whom the candidate will collaborate in different projects. If assigned to work in SMR-300 program, the analyst will support engineering and licensing requirements, leading to the licensing and construction of the first SMR-300 plant. Similar positions are also open at the Company’s Pune (India) and Cranberry (PA) operation centers. Minimum technical Requirements : MS in Mechanical or Nuclear engineering. Experience using commercial CFD software such as ANSYS-FLUENT, ANSYS-CFX, and STAR CCM CFD software. In-depth knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics fundamentals. Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills. Desirable Additional Qualifications : Doctorate degree in Mechanical or nuclear engineering. Experience working with engineers and manufacturers to develop designs and drawings.
