ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Superintendent, Radiation Protection provides direction and leadership to a group of vendor Health Physicists that are responsible for specific site support in the areas of:
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The Superintendent, Radiation Protection must be able to work independently and collaboratively as needed and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
o Three (3) years supervisory/management experience
o Two (2) years radiological waste management experience

- Managing a multi-disciplined group including a bargaining unit and contractor oversight.
- Radiological work planning, assignment execution and field oversight of all risk-based activities
- Rad worker training
- Management of required vendor training
- Dosimetry Program
- Instrumentation
- Sealed Source Program
- NRC and DOT shipping regulation compliance
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The Superintendent, Radiation Protection must be able to work independently and collaboratively as needed and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.
- Meet qualifications of Reg. Guide 1.8 Rev. 2 1987
- Minimum of six (6) years of radiation protection/health physics
- Must meet minimum ANSI 3.1 standards
- Preferred:
o Three (3) years supervisory/management experience
o Two (2) years radiological waste management experience
- MARSSI type certifications
- Decommissioning certifications
- Shipping certifications
- Knowledge of EPRI and Industry Program
- Knowledge of plant procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of plant systems and processes
- Knowledge of computer software programs supporting assigned area
- Focus on ALARA planning, Radwaste Shipping, Maintenance of Radiological Instrumentation and Respiratory equipment, and Radiation Protection Training
- Experience in supervision of bargaining unit employees
- High degree of conscientiousness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
