Responsibilities
As a full-time Lower School teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Embed Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) principles into your curriculum.
- Collaborate with department and division colleagues, administrators, and parents.
- Serve as an advisor/homeroom teacher, mentor, and role model, fostering a positive learning environment and supporting students’ well-being.
- Participate in the school’s global education and diversity initiatives.
- Fulfill assigned duties as required.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education (a graduate degree is preferred).
- Experience teaching in grades 3–6.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for working within a homeroom model (Grades 3-5) that involves teaching multiple subjects or a departmental model (Grade 6) focusing on subject specialization.
- Knowledge of or a willingness to learn competency-based teaching and learning approaches.
- A demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Dedication to collaboration and professional growth.
- A commitment to DEIB and global competencies.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds within the community.
- Experience in a single-gender educational setting.
