What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Technician position at Holy Cross Hospital?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Monitor Technician position is responsible for ensuring patient safety through continuous cardiac rhythm surveillance; observing, interpreting and documenting telemetry readings while promptly notifying clinical staff of any abnormalities. Additionally, this position provides Private Branch Exchange ( PBX) backup support and assists the House Shift Supervisor , ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
One (1) year monitor tech experience
Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within sixty (60) days of hire.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Adherence to Holy Cross Medical Center policies surrounding patient safety, infection control and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA).
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
