- Manages plans, procures, coordinates, directs, installs and ensures data connectivity for the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) for THS.
- Responsible for overall network operation and environment including Cisco Routers, Watchguard Firewall, Extreme Switches, Avaya Switches, Extreme wireless network, Storage Array Networks (SAN), network monitoring, intrusion detection and prevention systems, LAN and WAN performance, VPN technologies, Virtualization and all Microsoft Windows Server products.
- Provides design, configuration, installation, and support of enterprise wireless network environments, preferably Extreme AP, WLAN controllers, and ensures wireless networks are secure and safe.
- Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of an organization's computer network infrastructure, including hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure smooth network connectivity and optimal performance, often involving tasks like monitoring network performance, managing user access, implementing security measures, and resolving network issues as they arise.
- Installs supports and maintains both physical, virtual servers, and appliances; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Storage Area Network (SAN).
- Assures that all LAN and WAN software and hardware products conform to the industry standards and provides interoperability with THS telecommunication components.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates technological developments in WAN and LAN related hardware and software for applicability to THS current and future requirements. Provides and recommends incorporation of new IT technologies when needed.
- Manages designs, develops, documents, and maintains network component data configurations, network topology, software and hardware levels, statistical counts, accounting data etc., to automate generation of detailed and summary reports of THS related cost, inventories and installation schedule.
- Coordinates network-related system activities with remote clinics, provides relevant training, assistance and consultations to IT staff and end-users if applicable.
- Performs other network and system management duties as assigned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in online training.
- Must take on call rotation, weekend, holiday, evening and/or nighttime work in any situation deemed important to serve direct patient care providers and acute inpatient care departments as needed.
