Substitute Teacher (Long Term)

Position Overview: Holy Cross School, located in Santa Cruz, CA, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our 5th-grade class. This position will begin in April 2025 and extend through November 2025. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that reflects our mission to educate and guide children in their spiritual, intellectual, and moral development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons across core subject areas.
• Manage the classroom effectively to create a positive learning environment.
• Assess and monitor student progress to ensure academic growth.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to foster a strong home-school connection.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to uphold the mission and values of Holy Cross School.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) required.
• Teaching credential (current or in progress) or substitute permit required.
• Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children preferred.

Compensation:Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications
