Position Overview
The PYD Leadership Supervisor will be responsible for the Positive Youth Development program operations within Holy Cross's Transition Center, including student recruiting, enrollment, assessment, placement, and monitoring. This position supervises the Recreation Coordinators, Employment Coordinator, and Crisis Responders. This position will lead PYD activities, supervision, and direct provision of group activities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures all activities adhere to agency values, with unwavering commitment to trauma-responsive care.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Positive Youth Development operations at the Transition Center.
- Assists in the development and on-going updating of program protocols.
- Is present for PYD program operations, including a regular schedule that may include late afternoon/evening hours on assigned days during the week, and all-staff meetings. Develops and adheres to a predictable schedule.
- Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling, and coordinating staffing for PYD program.
- Coordinate and partner with other program team members to schedule rooms, order supplies, facility cleaning, etc.
- Partner with the Transition Center clinical team to identify areas of needs and interest for each student to be developed through the PYD program and develop a PYD intervention plan in consultation with the participant and clinical team.
- Maintains up to date PYD intervention plans for each youth, and ensures youth receive the communication, coordination, and support necessary for success within each plan.
- Partners with participants, colleagues, and management, to ensure continuity of services to participants.
- May be required to complete assessments in collaboration with participants, identifying their immediate needs while outlining services available through the Transition Center.
- Offers participants the opportunity to be connected to community service agencies to address their medical, mental health, educational, employment and daily living needs.
- Provide direct intervention for participants experiencing high dysregulation during PYD activities.
- Demonstrate exceptional skills related with youth.
- Gather pre and post student data to demonstrate student growth in various developmental areas.
- Write and/or review and approve case notes, assessments, and critical incident reports through CareLogic.
- Uphold an unwavering trauma-informed approach to service delivery and design.
- Uphold unconditional positive regard for the participants, separating the participant from their behavior, in all interactions/conversations/notes/reports with and about youth.
- Provide weekly documented supervision for all direct reports, provide performance evaluations and coach personnel to continuously improve performance.
- Actively participate in weekly supervision with the positions immediate supervisor.
- Provide and model immediate, appropriate, and kind redirection and correction for problematic behaviors among participants.
- Model the agency health and safety practices and regulations.
- Perform other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individuals capabilities as assigned by ones supervisor.

- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification
- Three (3) or more years experience working in human services, child welfare and/or with at-risk youth. Preferred but not required, experience working with the homeless population.
- One (1) or more years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Two (2) or more years of experience in positive youth development programming strongly preferred.
- Lived experience in child welfare strongly preferred.
- Meet State Good Moral Character guidelines.
- Valid and Current Drivers License with acceptable driving record.
