Position Overview:

Transport clients, staff or materials to and from designated locations in an agency-provided motor vehicle and performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Drives agency vehicle to pick up and drop off families and clients who are part of the Compass Center program.
• Picks up and delivers materials as assigned by supervisor.
• Transports to off site appointments
• Responsible for de-escalating youth should an event occur during a transport
• Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing, supporting and articulating the Agency’s treatment philosophy and/or others that may be required contractually.
• Ensures that vehicles are in good working condition and logs into Fleetio as required, or utilizes the vehicle log.
• Maintains appropriate level of program security, vehicle security and vehicle care.
• Aware of the proximity of clients when transporting and while offsite at appointments.
• Monitors all client public contacts—restaurants, stores, social activities, etc. Provides correction/control when improprieties are found.
• Protects the reputation and resources of the Agency by accident avoidance, safety, sanitation, security and care of equipment, vehicles and supplies.
• Delivers supplies and light equipment as needed.
• Respects and protects client’s dignity and rights in all interactions and under all conditions.
• Performs other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individual’s capabilities as assigned by one’s supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• A minimum of five (5) years of driving experience is required.
• Must meet State of Michigan “Good Moral Character” guidelines.
• Must possess a valid and current driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Chauffeur’s License preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to operate agency vehicles, including automobiles and vans, for both short and long distances.
