Position Overview:
The Crisis Responder provides daily direct interaction, connection, and support for participants at the Transition Center. This position is responsible for upholding connection, empowerment and relationship building in direct interactions with participants. Crisis Responder provides crisis intervention for participants experiencing emotional dysregulation either on site or through call-ins, text, or social media connections.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for immediate crisis response that may occur at the Transition Center, facility grounds, or through call-ins, text, or social media connections.
- Provides crisis intervention while upholding fidelity to program intervention models.
- Document crisis and intervention provided within the required timeframes.
- Leads/participates in debriefing exercises for continuous quality improvement.
- Continuously build relational connections with participants on site.
- Collaborates with the clinical team to ensure participant success and positive culture.
- Upholds unconditional positive regard for the participants, separating the participant from their behavior, in all interactions/conversations/notes/reports with and participants.
- Provides immediate, appropriate, and kind redirection and correction for problematic behaviors.
- Maintains continuous visibility and accessibility for participants served.
- Supports participants experiencing emotional dysregulation to regulate.
- Will have advanced training in emergency response drills. Will be required to lead training emergency drills.
- Actively participates in behavior intervention meetings and assists in the development of individual crisis management plans for participants.
- Actively participates in weekly supervision and continuous performance improvement with supervisor.
- Maintains a sense of urgency throughout crisis situations and motivates the team toward proactive action. Proactively identifies possible barriers and works with the team to collectively problem-solve and monitor possible solutions.
- Write case notes, assessments, and critical incident reports through CareLogic.
- Will be on time for scheduled activities and scheduled shifts.
- Completes paperwork in a professional and timely manner.
- Completes payroll activities timely.
- Actively participates in weekly team meetings.
- Models the agencies health and safety practices and regulations.
- Articulates the agencys treatment philosophy and value.
- Will be required to work shifts during non-traditional hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Will be required to be part of an on-call emergency crisis response team that includes responding to after-hours and weekend emergencies.
- Continues professional development through professional literature and participation in various conferences, seminars, and professional organizations.

- Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or direct service-related field
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification
- 3 years of experience working directly with at-risk youth
- Lived experience in child welfare strongly preferred
- Meet State Good Moral Character guidelines.
- Valid and current drivers license with good driving record
