Position Overview:
The Outreach Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Program Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating activities designed to create/maintain a positive image of the Transition Center. The Outreach Coordinator will assist in raising awareness of programming to community members and target population. Will be responsible for executing strategies for effective communication with community members; maintaining and creating high quality relationships with program staff and community members while providing resources, training and other services that will enhance the growth the program.
Responsibilities:
- Upholds an unwavering trauma-informed approach to participants and colleagues, always upholding the agencys values.
- Partners with participants, colleagues, and management, to ensure continuity of services to participants.
- Will find areas and businesses within the community that will attract the target population for community awareness of the Transition Center and services offered.
- Establish relationships with businesses in the Saginaw County area that are willing to provide training and employment opportunities to participants.
- Involvement in community collaborative meetings.
- Host information meetings
- Contributes to making the Transition Center a trauma informed, safe environment for participants.
- Will build relational connections with participants.
- Develops professional relationships with participants by being a positive, supportive role model, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Provide and model immediate, appropriate, and kind redirection and correction for problematic behaviors.
- Uphold unconditional positive regard for participants in care, separating the participant from their behavior, in all interactions/conversations/notes/ reports with and about participants.
- Write case notes, assessments, and critical incident reports through CareLogic.
- Will be on time for scheduled activities and scheduled shifts, as needed.
- Completes paperwork in a professional and timely manner.
- May be required to work shifts during non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays.
- Provides 24-hour crisis on call availability to treatment team on an as needed basis.
- Actively participates in weekly supervision with direct supervisor.
- Completes payroll activities timely.
- Actively participates in weekly team meetings.
- Actively participates in training and agency activities as required.
- Maintains professional and respectful demeanor with colleagues, participants, and the public.
Performs other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individuals capabilities as assigned by ones supervisor.

- Minimum of an associate degree in human services or public relations field
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in human services, child welfare and/or with at-risk youth preferred
- Experience working with the homeless population
- Experience building relationships with business and community referral agencies strongly preferred
- Lived experience in child welfare strongly preferred
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification
- Meet State Good Moral Character guidelines.
- Valid and current drivers license with good driving record
