Position Summary: The Junior High Math Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing instruction in mathematics for grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who is passionate about fostering a love of learning in students.
Responsibilities:
- Instruction:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and Catholic values.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate students of varying abilities.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Assessment:
- Administer and analyze assessments to monitor student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
- Work with parents to support student learning and address student needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Homeroom Responsibilities:
- Serve as a homeroom teacher, overseeing student attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development.
- Build strong relationships with students and families.
- Advanced Courses and Intervention:
- Teach advanced math courses and provide support to students who need additional assistance.
- Develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Math teacher or willingness to work toward a teaching license:
- Strong understanding of middle school mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Commitment to Catholic education and mission.
