Holy Cross School is seeking a Jr. High (6th-8th Grade) Math teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.: Candidates must be able to fulfill all teaching description requirements of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and demonstrate a marked commitment to teaching faith, knowledge, language, and culture with adeptness, sensitivity, and passion.

Position Summary: The Junior High Math Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing instruction in mathematics for grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who is passionate about fostering a love of learning in students.

Responsibilities:

• Instruction:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and Catholic values.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate students of varying abilities.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Assessment:
  • Administer and analyze assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective instructional practices.
  • Work with parents to support student learning and address student needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
• Homeroom Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a homeroom teacher, overseeing student attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families.
• Advanced Courses and Intervention:
  • Teach advanced math courses and provide support to students who need additional assistance.
  • Develop and implement effective intervention strategies.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Math teacher or willingness to work toward a teaching license:
• Strong understanding of middle school mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
• Commitment to Catholic education and mission.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.:
