Holy Family Home is looking for an amazing full time Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Control Nurse (RN) to join our family team to work full time.
Position requires you to be Covid-19 vaccinated, and flu vaccinated.
The Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Control Nurse (RN) is responsible for responsible for staff training, including planning overall orientation and ongoing education and in-service programs to all staff for the development of skills so as to provide for quality of care. The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for maintaining an infection prevention and control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmissions of communicable diseases and infections; also provides safety / health teaching to Residents.
These services are consistent with the Home's standards and philosophy and are in compliance with all regulations, codes, policies and procedures that govern the facility.
JOB STANDARDS :
- A Registered Nurse license in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local codes and regulations governing long term care facilities and base knowledge of community resources to gather information applicable to job objectives
- Must be certified from the CDC for Infection Preventionist.
- Knowledge of infectious disease, universal precautions, and aseptic techniques; specialized training in infection prevention and control.
- Training experience in areas required in long-term care settings (HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, Abuse and Neglect, Resident Rights and Dementia, Blood Borne pathogens, Isolation Precautions, etc.).
- Computer skills : experience in Point Click Care and Relias required
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating leadership qualities especially integrity, initiative, sound judgment, and dependability creating congeniality and collaboration while enhancing staff growth
- Ability to evaluate the skills of professional and non-professional staff and provide in-services to enhance their professional and technical competency
- Effectively deal with stress created by Residents' illnesses, disabilities and the aging process, organizational change, and working cooperatively as part of the health care team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language

WORK SETTING / ENVIRONMENT :
This employee will perform work primarily indoors and may attend meetings / seminars outside of the facility or may participate in outdoor activities of the Home. The work environment is well-lighted, clean and suitable to tasks performed by the employee within temperature control standards that govern a skilled care facility.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED :
This employee will be expected to operate a variety of equipment essential for performing duties of a medical nature relating to resident care.
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITY IN AN EMERGENCY :
The employee is expected to respond to emergency situations involving the safety of Residents, other employees, and the facility. This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of Residents.
