What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School 5th Grade Math Teacher position at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School?
Holy Innocents Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a Lower School Lead Fifth Grade Math Teacher. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.
This is a full-time teaching role for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Typical Duties
- Design and implement innovative lessons and assessments to achieve learning goals in the Lower School instructional program.
- Monitor and assess student progress and performance.
- Provide students with an engaging and hands-on learning that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and the overall teaching environment in the grade-level team.
- Communicate student progress clearly and effectively to students, parents and faculty, through emails, meetings, formal student reports.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience teaching in the Lower School Grades (1-5).
- Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Commitment to collaboration and team teaching across disciplines.
Educational and Other Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in education or related field required. Masters degree preferred
- Prior experience with the Singapore Math Curriculum is preferred
- Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required
