What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Lead Teacher position at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School?
Holy Innocents Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a Lower School Lead Teacher. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish day school in the country, offering a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.
This is a full-time teaching role for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Typical Duties

Design and implement innovative lessons and assessments to achieve learning goals in the Lower School instructional program.

Monitor and assess student progress and performance.

Provide students with an engaging and hands-on learning that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional activities and the overall teaching environment in the grade-level team.

Communicate student progress clearly and effectively to students, parents and faculty, through emails, meetings, formal student reports.
Required Skills and Abilities

Prior experience teaching in the Lower School Grades (1-5).

Excellent organization, presentation and communication skills.

Strong classroom management skills.

Commitment to collaboration and team teaching across disciplines.
Educational and Other Requirements

Bachelors Degree in education or related field required. Masters degree preferred

Prior experience with the Singapore Math Curriculum is preferred

Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required
