What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp - Special Area Leaders position at Holy Spirit School Childcare?
Join our TEAM! We are a fun place to work.... Spend your days in a fun filled classroom environment and having a blast while keeping kids off of devices. It's trickier than you think!
The Special Area Leaders will share a love their special area. From Animal Planet, where campers explore the environments and habitats of a variety of animals to the Theme Activity room you can find a place to love. Special Area Leaders are needed for Music, Theme Activity, Indoor Games or come with a suggestion and see if it's something we would love to add! We challenge our Special Area Leaders to help campers express their special talents and build skills in a variety of ways.
The campers’ range in age from entering kindergarten through entering 5th grade and group sizes are 12-14. I'm looking for individuals who can create lesson plans with limited assistance, is willing to be creative, and provides a variety of activities that will engage all ages. We will work together to find the materials you need.
The most successful candidate will have good classroom management, enjoy a fun-filled environment, have a strong camp or childcare background, use the materials in the classroom with care and concern, and understand the difference between school and summer. We activities that do not relying on the Clever Board! We want campers using those fine motor skills, thinking outside the box and to have so much fun they don't realize they are learning. College Students in all areas are encouraged to apply.

Current Special Area Leader positions that are filled: Drama, Art, Outdoor Games. Social/Emotional Learning, VBS, Storyteller, Mega Minds (aka STEM), and Gym.
Requirement for the position

Camp runs June 2nd - July 11. Additional summer possible.
Available Hours are between 7:45-5:30 - Early Care begins at 7:45, Camp Day is 9-3:45, After Care ends at 5:30. Early and After Camp Care are shared responsibilities of all camp counselors.
We are closed June 19 (Juneteenth) and July 4th
