Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN)(BS) to join our team, starting on a per diem basis with the potential to grow into a full-time Director of Nursing (DON) position.
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, care plans, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. The Director will work closely with healthcare teams in various settings, including home health, nursing homes, and acute care facilities, to develop and implement effective nursing practices that enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to best practices in patient care.
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and oversee documentation processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across various settings.
- Conduct initial assessments on new clients.
- Ensure that all nursing practices comply with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements.
- Provide training and support to nursing staff on medical terminology, systems, and procedures.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements based on data analysis.
- Conduct regular assessments of nursing operations and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Supervise and provide guidance to clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
- Monitor and record vital signs.
- Oversee all clinical aspects of patient care to maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate care plans and advocate for patients within the home setting.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in home health, acute care, or nursing home settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with care plan development.
- Experience in supervising nursing staff and managing healthcare teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze data related to patient care outcomes and implement necessary changes.
