Holy Trinity Lutheran School is seeking a Lead Summer Care Program Teacher to join our Christ-centered educational team. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement faith-based activities that align with our Christian mission, integrating Bible stories, prayer, and character-building lessons into the daily schedule.
- Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure a high-quality summer program experience.
- Foster a Christ-centered, inclusive, and respectful environment where all children feel valued and encouraged to participate.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by maintaining a structured and organized classroom setting.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress, behavior, and daily activities.
- Adapt lesson plans and activities to accommodate the diverse needs of children, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Incorporate outdoor play, hands-on projects, and creative learning experiences into the daily schedule.
- Model Christian values and serve as a spiritual mentor to students throughout the program.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and program evaluations as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and program effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree (or coursework) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or summer camp setting, ideally in a faith-based program.
- Strong leadership and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to Christian teachings and the ability to integrate faith into lessons and activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and team members.
- Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to a summer care program.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of the program) is a plus.
