Comptroller
As a Comptroller on the Fiscal Team, you will have an opportunity to join a team of collaborative professionals focused on direct management, oversight and reporting of all Fiscal operations, systems, and functions as it relates to the organization’s mission. In this role, you will be engaged in a continuously evolving environment with autonomous and deadline-oriented responsibilities, with supervision over the Fiscal and IT Teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of senior management in the areas of business administration, public policy, program development, and/or strategic planning and analysis.
- Dependable transportation, including necessary automobile insurance, is required.
- Maintain current valid driver’s license.
Experience
- Must have professional experience delivering mental health services to children age birth through five and those who care for them within a natural setting.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A Comptroller performs a number of important duties within an Agency. Their overall responsibility is the smooth running of the business from a financial perspective. This means making sure there are strategies and controls in place to keep the business in good fiscal health, as well as making sure each employee involved in accounting performs to those standards. The Comptroller is also responsible for conducting internal control audits to be sure the business is in compliance with legal and ethical business practices. Other responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the CFO to:
- Develop plans for the Agency’s financial growth
- Evaluate and manage financial risk
- Ensure program excellence, defined program evaluation, and consistent quality of culture, communication and systems to achieve strategic goals.
- Assess policies and procedures to ensure compliance for both the IT and Fiscal departments
- Managing the Agency’s financial transactions
- Preparing the Agency’s financial reports
- Taking part in the grant application and budgeting process
- Supervising the Agency’s Fiscal and IT employees
- Providing financial training to employees when needed
- Monitoring the oversight and training of Non-Federal share contributions
- Collaborating with senior leadership and governing bodies for all fiscal-related activities
- Performs other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the CFO or CEO.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Title 45 CFR Part 75 (and/or 2 CFR Part 200) - Uniform Administrative requirement, Cost Principles, and audit requirements for Health and Human Services.
- Experience or knowledge of the Head Start Act and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Grant writing experience preferred.

- Strong technology literacy and experience required.

- Expertise with MIP Fund Accounting program and/or related accounting program.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Solution-oriented problem-solving skills and excellent analytical abilities.
Starting Salary: $85,259.20 annually ($3,279.20 biweekly)
