What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient & Family Advocate - Bilingual (English/Spanish) position at Holyoke Medical Center?
The Patient and Family Advocate role falls under the quality department, whose mission is making sure that our patients are receiving the best quality of care, and all safety protocols are in place.
The Patient and Family Advocate is assigned to the Emergency Department waiting room to advocate for patients and their families by communicating issues and concerns and seeking resolution through appropriate channels. Provides comfort to patients in the waiting room. Checking in with the patients proactively, providing blankets, crosswords or anything they may need to make their wait more comfortable. Assisting with language barriers and communicating updates to the medical providers.
Minimum Requirements :
Three (3) - Five (5) years customer service experience
Ability to move in a fast and paced environment
Demonstrated Problem-solving skills
Strong team player
Proficient with Microsoft and Google products
High School diploma or equivalent required
Fluent Spanish proficiency preferred
