What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technologist (Surgical Scheduler) position at Holzer Health System?
The Certified Surgical Technologist/Surgical Scheduler will work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, Functions as the focal communication source for the surgical unit. Interacts with PAD, Vendors, Clerical staff, Surgeons, ASU, Charge Nurses, and Anesthesia supervisor. In the scrub role, functions as an assistant to the medical and other professional staff. Performs duties that include: patient care and special procedures unique to this department as limited by the scope of training and according to hospital policies and procedures. Follows AORN standards and guidelines within a patient and Family Centered Care Model.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
· Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
· CPR required.
· Applicants must have successfully obtained Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) for Surgical Technology (CST), or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for Tech in Surgery (TS-C).
· Previous surgical experience preferred in the past 5 years. Medical Secretarial background with typing and computer skills preferred.
