You will have the opportunity to make your mark with teams and retailers during this golden era of sports licensed apparel. Inspire buyers, strengthen relationships, bring on new business and create value for our partners all the while enhancing the HOMAGE brand and elevating its profile.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Run the Show for Wholesale: Manage the whole B2B game for NFL, NCAA, and all soccer-related accounts. From the first pass to the final touchdown, you're in charge.
- Set the Scoreboard: Own and crush sales targets for each league—NFL, NCAA, and soccer. No looking back; you're setting the pace and driving results.
- Year-over-Year Growth: Keep the scoreboard moving up, driving both revenue and margin growth for each league year after year. More sales, happy customers—that’s the goal.
- Scout New Accounts: Open fresh accounts and build new business. You’re constantly looking to expand our roster and grow our market presence.
- Game Plan Sales Calendar: Create a winning sales calendar to line up opportunities, making sure to hit key moments with the right products—especially those that take time to produce (think Cut & Sewn garments that aren’t sourced domestically).
- New Program Playbook: As new licenses and distribution opportunities come in, roll out fresh wholesale programs to hit minimum guarantees (if required) and keep those sales projections on track.
- Deliver Best-in-Class Customer Service: Provide exceptional, top-tier service to all accounts, ensuring their needs are always met and expectations exceeded. Your goal is to make customers feel like VIPs, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Management & Business Development:
- Build Strong Team Relationships: Keep the lines open with existing accounts, ensuring they’re always getting the support they need to score big with their sales.
- Be the Clutch Communicator: Always stay in the game with timely, clear communication, making sure no account gets left on the sidelines.
- Scout & Vet New Customers: Check out potential new accounts and make sure they’re the right fit for the brand—no risk players when it comes to collections.
- Travel Like a Pro: Hit the road for HOMAGE-related meetings, industry trade shows, potential new accounts, and to maintain those strong relationships with key accounts.
Market Strategy & Business Development:
- Stay on Top of the Game: Stay plugged into the sports calendar—drafts, free agency, Hall of Fame inductions, rebrands, and everything else that’s happening. Capitalize on these moments to make your move.
- Bring Fresh Plays to the Table: Get creative and throw new ideas at the team to keep buyers excited and the product mix fresh.
- Identify New Markets: Find new opportunities and present them to the Wholesale, Product, and Licensing teams—whether that’s emerging leagues like UFL or international opportunities like the English Premier League.
- Analyze the Stats: Work with the planning and forecasting teams to dive into historical sales data, project future trends, and align your game plan with specific product needs.
Product & Graphic Coordination:
- Manage Graphic Resources Like a Pro: Be strategic with the graphic resources, making sure they’re used effectively across accounts and projects.
- Work with the Graphics Team: Collaborate to develop killer market-specific graphics that get the best return on investment.
- Align with the DTC Calendar: Keep the product release calendar in sync with the team or retailer assortments, ensuring product launches are timely and relevant.
- Innovate with the Product Team: Work with the product team to create new, innovative silhouettes that add value to the business and push the brand forward.
Operational & Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Partner Up for Success: Work with the coordinator to handle key processes—vendor onboarding, order seeding, production timelines, graphic scheduling, line sheets, product images, and asset management.
- Ensure Smooth Collections: Team up with the Accounts Receivable squad to keep collections on track and ensure balances stay low.
- Navigate Licensing with Ease: Work with the Licensing team to understand the ins and outs of product distribution rights, and make sure the approval process runs smoothly for each licensor.
Qualifications
What are we looking for in a Wholesale Key Accounts Manager?
- 2 Years of Sales Experience: You’ve been in the game long enough to know how to close deals, build relationships, and drive sales.
- Passionate About Sports: A genuine love for sports and a curiosity to learn everything you can about the history and culture behind it. If you know your way around stats, legends, and iconic moments, you're in the right place.
- Stay in the Know: You live and breathe the latest in sports and pop culture, always plugged into what’s happening and where to get the best info. If you’re the first to hear about trades or breaking news, we want you on the team.
- Deep Knowledge of Key Leagues: A more intimate understanding of the NFL, NCAA, MLS, and US Soccer is a big win, but we’re excited about all sports fans who are ready to dive in.
- Strong Communication Skills: You’ve got the communication playbook down—email, Slack, phone calls—whatever it takes to keep the conversation flowing with both internal teams and external clients.
- Relationship Building Pro: You know how to make connections and keep them strong, building trust and long-term partnerships with your accounts.
- Resilient Attitude: When faced with a challenge or a “no,” you bounce back stronger, keeping your eyes on the goal and never letting setbacks keep you down.
- Creative Problem Solver: You're a self-starter who doesn’t just wait for answers; you think outside the box to tackle challenges and find creative solutions.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: You’ve got a system for everything and can juggle multiple tasks while keeping everything in order—no detail is too small.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office products is a must, and experience with NetSuite and Adobe is a huge plus.
This job description outlines the key responsibilities, but it's not everything. We’re all about teamwork here, so be ready to pitch in and take on tasks outside your usual playbook whenever HOMAGE needs you to step up.
HOMAGE will make reasonable accommodations for team members for known physical or mental limitations unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of our business.
