Responsibilities
- Safely operate shuttle vehicles, including vans and buses, to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and basic maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding schedules, routes, and any delays or changes.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support as needed for those with disabilities or special requirements.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to optimize routes and improve service efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in driving roles such as shuttle driving, bus driving, delivery driving, or paratransit services.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle unexpected situations calmly.
- Familiarity with motor coach or school bus driving is a plus.
- Excellent navigation skills and knowledge of local roadways.
- Commitment to safety standards and practices in transportation.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks when necessary.
