Full-Time Program Assistant – Overnight

  • Hourly Wage: $19.90 entire shift
  • Hours: Sunday 9pm – Monday 7am; Monday 9pm – Tuesday 7am; Tuesday 9pm – Wednesday 7am; Wednesday 9pm – Thursday 7am

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals with medical needs throughout the night. Staff are encouraged to sleep when not actively engaged in caregiving duties.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience or additional training in developmental disabilities or related human services field preferred but not required.
  • Must pass a criminal background study
  • Ability to implement program plans/activities and take proper action that will be in the best interest of the individual.
  • Work cooperatively as part of the team.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, as driving a vehicle will likely be required.
  • No active warnings.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Respond to individual needs by having a full range of communication abilities (hearing, verbal, and vision).
  • Respond to and provide guidance to operational situations.
  • Move about and travel to program sites, given reasonable accommodations.
  • Read and write printed material related to the job.
  • Use a computer and develop written correspondence efficiently.
  • Provide physical assistance to individuals which consists of: lifting (35 lbs. max.), bending, twisting, ambulating up and down stairs, maintaining balance on a variety of surfaces, working with challenging behaviors that may require physical support, assisting individuals with personal care, and emergency situations.
  • Access people’s homes that are not handicap accessible as needed.
