Residential Maintenance Handyman - Ad-Hoc for STR Properties

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Ad Hoc Maintenance Handyman to provide on-call support for our short-term rental (STR) properties during evenings and weekends. This role is ideal for someone with strong general maintenance skills who can handle urgent repairs and last-minute tasks to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Call Maintenance & Repairs

• Respond to urgent maintenance requests from guests and property managers.

• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues.

• Patch drywall, fix door locks, replace light bulbs, and perform other general repairs as needed.

2. Property Turnover Support

• Ensure properties are in guest-ready condition by handling last-minute fixes.

• Perform final property checks before guest check-ins.

• Address any reported issues from cleaning teams after turnovers.

3. Emergency Response

• Be available for urgent situations such as leaks, power outages, or heating/cooling failures.

• Quickly assess and resolve problems or escalate them to specialized contractors if needed.

4. Basic Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct quick inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

• Perform minor upkeep tasks like tightening fixtures, lubricating doors, and checking smoke detectors.

5. Guest Experience Support

• Assist with troubleshooting guest-reported issues, such as TV/Wi-Fi setup or minor appliance concerns.

• Communicate with the property management team to provide updates on completed tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of general home repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

• Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently.

• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

• Access to basic tools and equipment needed for common repair tasks.

Schedule & Availability

• Weekdays: Available after 5:00 PM for on-call maintenance requests.

• Weekends: On-call availability for urgent issues and turnover support.

Compensation

• Competitive per-task rate, based on work task performed. Base call rate of $45

• Additional compensation for in depth jobs
