Job Summary
The general maintenance worker is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on facility plumbing, electric, heating and cooling, and other building and machine systems. They should feel confident prioritizing assigned work orders, documenting completed tasks, and coordinating with maintenance management to reduce downtime. This position is for Second Shift (1pm -9 : 30pm), Monday through Friday.
Skillset
- General tool knowledge and use as well as mechanical aptitude.
- Trouble shooting problem-solving abilities.
- Time-management skills.
- Understanding of Plumbing, Electrical and Pneumatic Systems.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- General knowledge of carpentry and repair.
- General knowledge of maintenance methods.
- Ability to take apart machines to replace defective parts.
- Experience working with common appliances, parts, and tools.
- Ability to prioritize workloads critical to operations.
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- PLC experience is a plus.
- Forklift / Scissor lift experience is a plus.
- Related Field Certifications are a plus.
- Salary Range : $20.00 to $25.00 (DOE)
Duties / Responsibilities
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience preferred.
On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 35ft.
Ability to crawl into and work in small and confined spaces.
Ability to work in various positions other than standing or sitting.
Stand / walk for long periods.
Lift as much as 50 pounds at a time.
Overtime as required.
This is an entry to mid-level position. General maintenance and tool skillset required. Willing to train the right candidate.
