Job Description Summary
Responsible for planning and coordinating a yearly calendar of events for members and non-members. Maintain the HBA website and social media accounts and actively promote events and members. This person will work closely with the Director of Membership to assist on executing events, as well as planning and implementing strategies to grow the Home Builders Association brand awareness and heighten awareness of the Association.
Qualifications/Requirements
The applicant should possess a degree in marketing, communications or related field; or three years of marketing, event planning, or association management experience. The ideal applicant should have strong writing and editing skills, experience in marketing through social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. – and experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs and basic graphic design knowledge. Experience with Websuite2 or comparable membership database system, and email marketing, is preferred, but not essential.
Normal contacts will include Home Builders Association membership, vendors, association prospects, national and state home builders associations, and marketing suppliers/contacts.
Specific Duties
- Organizes Parade of Homes, Homearama, Builders & Developers Forums and the yearly golf outing.
- Create a new public facing event for the HBA (details TBD).
- Create and maintain all registration and financial reports for the individual events.
- Serves as author/editor of membership publications/communications, such as emails, newsletters, directories, brochures, and correspondence; creates marketing layout design and advertising.
- Preparing and selling sponsorship packages to support member events.
- Maintain HBA website and social media accounts and actively promote events and members.
- Works with the Director of Membership to assist on events as needed. Attendance is required at all HBA functions, unless approved by the Board President.
- Work with the Director of Membership on future Workforce Development and Apprenticeship programs.
- Attend Spring and Fall OHBA meetings as directed by the Board.
- Safeguards all confidential information regarding the Association, Staff, and the Membership.
- Manages all administrative and office functions of the Association as needed to maintain an efficient, effective, well-organized, and enjoyable working environment.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate events on nights/weekends as required.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
