Director of Nursing

Job title: Registered Nurse/Director of Nursing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Do all assessments for admissions and reassessments.
• Do all initial care plans and update care plans as necessary.
• Do supervisory visits at least every 90 days.
• Be a Liaison between clients, their families, and other agencies as necessary.
• Oversee and supervise all direct care staff (LPNs, CNAs, DSPs and PCAs)
• Communicate with the personnel manager for personnel issues.
• Give guidance for staff development.
• Perform PCA/DSP classes.
• Keep up to date with in-home care regulations for state and federal.
• Assist with answering office phones.
• Carry on-call phone at least once a month.
• Track reassessment, care plans, and supervisory visits.
• Perform well checks of clients as necessary.
• Do 225 admissions and discharges.
• Review care plans with clients and their families upon admissions and reassessments.
• Ensure care plans are in the client’s homes.
• Ensure DMAS forms are filled out correctly.
• Do TB Screenings on hire.
• Do authorizations in Kepro for state clients.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in related field
• Current RN Licensed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with federal, state, and local standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
