Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, acute medical conditions, or require specialized infectious disease care. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in patient assessment, treatment planning, and the delivery of care in our Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide catheter care and assist with other personal hygiene needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
- Participate in infection control measures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist in laboratory procedures as needed, including specimen collection and processing.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to inform patient assessments and interventions.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Proficient in medical-surgical nursing practices within an acute care setting.
- Familiarity with catheter care techniques and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center environment, managing high-stress situations.
- Understanding of infectious disease protocols and prevention strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
