Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, particularly within our Level I Trauma Center. This position requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort, as well as the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure accurate documentation using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Perform catheter care and other aseptic techniques to prevent infections.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to the nursing team.
- Support patients in rehabilitation exercises and mobility assistance.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in transporting patients within the facility as needed.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medication administration practices and aseptic techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and moving patients safely.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
