Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to healthcare providers.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring clients safely when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client care activities and progress notes.
- Support clients in engaging with their community through social activities or appointments.
- Work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum, adapting care strategies to meet their unique needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in social work, home community care, or personal assistance is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and vital sign monitoring techniques.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and best practices in home care settings.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and their families.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to enhancing client well-being.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
