What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor-Educator for Middle School Students (In-Person, Cleveland, TN) position at Home Care Ops?
We’re a family on a mission to raise two extraordinary humans—Son (13) and Daughter (12)—with confidence, courage, and the skills to thrive in life, not just school.
We’re looking for a mentor-educator who can teach the fundamentals (math, reading, writing, science) and help them grow into who they’re meant to be.
This role is perfect for someone who:
- Believes real education shapes the whole child
- Loves the balance of structure and creative freedom
- Wants to see their work make an immediate, lasting impact

Why This Role Matters
Our kids are deeply thoughtful, emotionally aware, and ready for more than worksheets. They need someone who can meet them where they are and guide them toward:
- Critical thinking
- Confidence in communication
- Emotional regulation
- Personal responsibility
- Real-world readiness
You’ll work one-on-one with them in a private setting 3–4 days per week (10–15 hours total), building not just knowledge—but belief in themselves.
What You’ll Do
- Teach academic subjects through real-life application and curiosity-driven methods
- Coach them through personal growth moments, not just academic ones
- Encourage independence, voice, and self-discipline
- Help them build problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Provide weekly feedback and collaborate with the parent (acting as principal)
