Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Home and Care. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services in various settings, including outpatient facilities and skilled nursing environments. The COTA will assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals through effective treatment plans and interventions.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to patients, focusing on improving their daily living skills and overall functional abilities.
• Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to enhance recovery.
• Utilize knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to support effective patient care.
• Work with geriatric populations, addressing specific needs related to aging and mobility.
• Participate in acute care settings as needed, providing timely interventions for patients with urgent rehabilitation needs.

Requirements

• Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of outpatient therapy practices and experience in skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
• Ability to assist patients effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of occupational therapy.
