What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Product Development Operations Analyst position at Home Depot / THD?
Position Purpose:
This position acts as a critical support function to the Associate Merchant Product Development (APDM) and is a key liaison for the Product Development team overall. This position will be responsible for product onboarding of select private label categories, dropship and B2B. As such, the person in this position is accountable for accurate and complete data capture, data integrity, and maintenance across all databases. This position will support APDM as needed by conducting competitive research, preparing samples for product line reviews, writing detailed agendas/recaps for vendor meetings, and supporting adhoc projects. In addition, this position will independently own the operations related to dropship. These responsibilities include vendor onboarding, validating inventory, executing promotions, updating data changes (costs, retails, etc) and reporting. This position will also be critical in ensuring that dropship product strategies translate to website by partnering with Site Merchandising team for seamless execution. Overall, this is a highly cross-functional role requiring collaboration with PD, Merch, Site Merch, IT, and B2B teams as well as external vendors. This person should seek opportunity for process improvement and partner effectively across these functional groups to drive efficiencies and ensure timely launches. This position requires an individual that is self-motivated, solution-oriented and capable of independently tracking projects across a breadth of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- 10% Analysis - Provide market, industry, and competitive expertise and analysis to drive product positioning. Work with cross functional team to provide back-up support on marketing collateral development, new product launches, packaging development, and brand messaging that helps drive revenue and margins
- 10% Liaison - Serve as liaison between Business Development and Supplier Factories; Maintain competitive benchmarking awareness with customers, sales, and marketing
- 20% Online - Provides copy, key words, images, Q&A Answers and marketing language for homedepot.com. Utilizes the THD Online Enrichment Process feedback to enhance product listings on website
- 10% Process Improvement - Develop process and improve upon current internal processes to drive efficiencies for both online data enrichments as well as on-boarding. Participate in project teams to provide input regarding product data changes needed as a result of website or other business changes; Research data issues and errors and partner with IT and business partners to resolve
- 50% Tracking and Reporting - Tracks and reports progress towards goals, proactively resolves issues to avoid delays, escalates as required

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
