The Asset Protection Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding Home Depot's assets and ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and vendors. Their primary responsibility is to prevent financial loss caused by theft, fraud, and other forms of shrinkage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Investigation: Identify internal and external incidents of theft and fraud, detain and interview individuals apprehended for shoplifting, and minimize the risk of injury during apprehensions.
- CCTV Monitoring: Review CCTV footage, audit Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and exception reports to detect dishonest activity and process individuals who commit theft and fraud.
- Case Reporting: Prepare detailed and accurate case reports in a timely manner, preserve relevant evidence, and testify in court when required.
- Physical Security: Monitor the store's physical security, drive execution of store safety programs, and validate compliance with company standards and policies.
- Ambassadorship: Teach, coach, and train associates on proper operational processes and store safety compliance standards.
Nature and Scope:
This role typically reports to a Store Asset Protection Manager (APM) or, in stores without an APM, multiple APMS and the Store Manager. The position has no direct reports and involves frequent contact outside the workgroup.
Environmental Job Requirements:
This role is performed in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
Travel:
This role requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
