Job Summary
The Shop Mechanic I - Large Equipment Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on large equipment to ensure it remains in rental-ready condition. This includes performing preventative maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, and troubleshooting and repairing small engines and other equipment components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on large equipment, including fuel systems, oil and air filtration systems, and ignition systems.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is in rental-ready condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair small engines and other equipment components.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers and other equipment.
- Follow shop safety protocol and safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and move equipment and materials in the shop and yard.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
Typically works in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes.
