About the Role:

The Senior Director of Learning Experience will partner with our brand presidents and Franchisees to design and execute innovative learning strategies that drive business success across our franchise network. This role will lead a high-performing Learning Experience Designers (LXDs) team to elevate the learning ecosystem through HFC University. This individual will oversee strategic initiatives that align training and development programs with business objectives, ensuring franchisees are empowered to achieve operational excellence. The role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our franchise network by empowering teams with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Essential Job Functions:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to scale learning and development functions across the organization
  • Oversee the development and execution of training content that aligns with brand objectives and franchisee needs, ensuring best practices in instructional design and delivery.
  • Drive a strategic vision for learning and development, measuring outcomes to ensure alignment with business goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a continuous learning and innovation culture by promoting adaptive strategies and leading key initiatives that enhance the learning environment.
  • Promote a collaborative environment where team members are empowered to excel and drive impactful results.

Program Development and Execution:

  • Design and develop comprehensive learning solutions, including blended and technology-enabled formats such as web-based, instructor-led, virtual, on-the-job, and self-paced learning resources.
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions, utilizing interactive tools and technologies to engage participants effectively.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a strategic partner to brand presidents and franchisees, ensuring alignment on training objectives and outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to prepare for training initiatives, identify needs, and propose tailored solutions.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to maximize the achievement of business objectives through effective training plans and initiatives.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee budgets and expenditures for the learning and development function, using data-driven insights to inform resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all learning materials and delivery formats, tailoring solutions to diverse franchise and customer needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on learning methodologies, ensuring the implementation of industry best practices and innovative approaches to skill development.
  • Promote a collaborative environment where team members are empowered to excel and drive impactful results.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both verbal and written
  • Adept at managing Outlook calendars
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and/or Canva
  • Experienced in using MS Teams to host meetings or training sessions
  • Ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to help out with any team needs
  • Must be able to work on-site 4 days a week

Desired Qualifications:           

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale learning initiatives.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies and learning technologies, including LMS platforms, Articulate Rise/Storyline, and virtual facilitation tools.
  • Strong experience in developing blended learning solutions and creating a culture of continuous learning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and resources to align with strategic objectives.
  • Player/Coach Mentality—This role requires a willingness to roll up their sleeves and perform hands-on tasks, including instructional design, on certain days. Candidates must expect to operate as strategic leaders and detailed contributors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in franchise operations or multi-unit business environments.
  • Background in video editing, webinar production, and eLearning content creation.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in learning and development, including learning in the flow of work and AI-driven personalization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment: 

  • This position is hybrid, with a requirement to be on-site 3 days per week in the Flower Mound office.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support franchisee training initiatives and stakeholder engagements.
