What You Will Do
- Check in patients, schedule follow ups.
- Knowledge and ability to articulately describe providers’ clinical practice parameters.
- Answer all incoming calls and field to appropriate person/place.
- Perform phone intakes and schedule appointments, including facilitating the school evaluation process.
- Perform insurance prior authorization.
- Schedule internal and external referrals from verbal, email, phone or AEMR request.
- Create and maintain doctors’ schedules/templates in Soarian.
- Insure and increase revenue by ensuring slots are filled.
- Ensure behavioral/psychological questionnaires are mailed, received, scored, and scanned into AEMR at a high level of PHI security.
- Retrieve and send protected PHI records to other physicians, social security requests.
- Keep inventory of patient protocols.
- General clinic office duties: collect co-pays and create bank deposits, review and submit charges in AEMR, assemble new patient packets to mail and send to other sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
- Some college (Preferred)
- 2 years Of clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting (Required) and
- Experience using hospital clinical operating systems (Preferred)
- Proficient PC skills, including MS Office products. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills. (Required proficiency)
- Detail oriented and organized. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment (Required proficiency)
