- Supervises the decontamination, sterilization, storage, and limited distribution of patient care supplies and equipment. This includes the development of departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards and workflows.
- Supervises the department’s inventory control practices.
- Collects, monitors & maintains departmental statistics to ensure compliance with all accreditation, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years Of successful and progressively responsible experience in inventory management, sterile processing, instrument management, case cart make-up and supervision of employees with demonstrated leadership ability in a medical center are Required
- Knowledge of AORN or AAMI, FDA, OSHA, EPA regulations and guidelines. Preferred
- Operates and is knowledgeable of all equipment in Central Sterile Required
- Processing (case carts, steam & EtO sterilizers, washer/sterilizers, cart washer, sonic cleaner, computer, surgical instruments etc.). Required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Required or
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required
