Summary :
The Assistant Director of Clinical Practice is responsible for supervising a multidisciplinary team. Serves as the Clinical Manager in the absence of the Director of Clinical Practice.

2. Creates positive experiences for internal and external customers that will meet their expectations. (External customers include our patients, families, referral sources, vendors, the community, etc. Internal customers are the people within the agency with whom you work.) Displays a high degree of courtesy, tact, and knowledge of services provided by the agency in all contact with staff, patients, and visitors.
3. Supervises, supports, educate and mentor staff at the point of service. Ensures best practices in patient care, point of care documentation, optimal time management, competence in physical assessment and data capture. Direct supervision of staff in the field >
50% of work time. Assist the Director of Clinical Practice to ensure coordination of referrals and provides oversight of appropriate patient and personnel assignments.
4. Fills job vacancies with applicants that will be a "right fit" for the Clinical Office and 3HC and provides the appropriate orientation : (a) interviews, selects, and hires applicants to fill job vacancies in accordance with EEOC and 3HC guidelines; (b) ensures that new staff participates timely in 3HC's orientation program following JSO outline; (c) orients and trains new staff in accordance with their job description and office policies and procedures; (d) provides close supervision so that at the introductory performance review, or prior, a good decision can be made whether to maintain the new employee.
5. Performs duties and responsibilities to include those of a home health and hospice nurse, and assists with skilled nurse visits, in the event of patient overload or emergency.
6. Maintains a clean and safe working environment for self and staff : (a) ensures staff is knowledgeable of and adheres to 3HC safety standards; (b) takes appropriate action on safety issues identified by self, staff, and 3HC's Safety Committee; and (c) promotes safety and cleanliness.
7. Demonstrates an interest in personal and professional growth for self and staff : (a) attends and participates in workshops, seminars, webcasts to keep abreast of current changes in rules, regulations, relating to job functions and department; (b) does individual reading and research; and (c) recommends educational opportunities for staff and encourages participation.
8. Demonstrates a willingness to be cost effective in the use of agency resources, the monitoring of waste, and the proper and safe use of supplies and equipment.
9.Adheres to 3HC's Personnel Policy and performs other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor to promote the successful operations and future growth of 3HC.
Qualification Requirements
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of two-years experience as a registered nurse
- Minimum of one-year experience as a home health nurse preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state guidelines, rules and regulations as they relate to the home health industry preferred
- Maintains current CPR certification (BCLS)
