What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Care Nursing Director position at Home Health Services of Virginia?
The HCO Director of Nursing is a critical part of the agency and must have experience working in the home health setting. We are looking for an individual that is versatile and able to wear a number of hats. This individual must have the following:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree is preferred.
- Must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Must have experience working in a home care agency within a supervisory role.
The responsibilities of this individual include but are not limited to:
- Oversee home health program and operations.
- Oversee and complete clinical documentation.
- Ensure agency compliance with regulations.
- Experience with successfully managing home health program within state, federal and local guidelines.
- Knowledgeable on Medicaid/Medicare and VDH requirements for home health program.
- Facilitate assessments and plan of care for clients.
- Complete and obtain service authorization from Medicaid/Medicare.
- Facilitate home visits evaluating client needs on a consistent basis.
- Supervises home health staff to ensure appropriate delivery of service in relation to plan of care.
- Facilitates mandated training for home health staff at orientation and on a monthly basis.
- Conducts home health aide training.
