Overview
Seeking a home health aid to assist with basic daily living needs. The individual who needs assistance has some behavioral health and mental health issues, but is high functioning with communication skills, budgeting, taking medications, and most decision-making and planning. She mainly is limited due to physical disabilities, and needing help with cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning/organizing, laundry & support with independence in home and community. She is offering very flexible hours, totalling in 20 hours a week. Availability for shifts falls between timeframe of 11am and 6pm during the week and more flexible during the weekends. Set scheduling would be determined on case by case basis and could be negotiated upon hiring. See responsibilities and requirements below for important information.
Responsibilities
- Provide minimal assistance/supervision with personal care tasks such as bathing/hygiene
- Assist with meal preparation and housekeeping/organization/laundry
- Support client with mobility issues and supervising physical therapy exercises
- Engage client in activities, both at home and accompanying in the community, that promote their physical and mental well-being
-assisting with medication from pharmacy and grocery shopping (mostly just accompanying to help transport and carry items)
Requirements
- Experience in home care or a related field is preferred, not required
Own reliable transportation
-Must have drivers license
-Evening availability, flexible shifts between 1-6pm on weekdays and completely flexible on weekends
-Good communication skills & reliability are essential
-need to be able to lift 35-40 lbs (transporting wheelchair)
- Patience working with individuals with mental health and mood-regulation issues
- Basic cooking skills & knowledge of kitchen safety are beneficial for meal preparation tasks, not required
- Kindness is a big requirement, experience working in a role related to caring for others or socially-based skills (ex. volunteer work, family/childcare, caregiver, Paraprofessional) is helpful

Pay: $12.85 - $14.50 per hour
