Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing while respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Supporting individuals with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are reported to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Providing companionship and engaging clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Implementing behavior management strategies for clients with specific needs or challenges.
- Assisting with meal preparation and ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each client.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in home care or community care settings, demonstrating a strong understanding of client needs.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients effectively.
