Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in various care settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide support in medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents by monitoring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Facilitate social interactions and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Uphold resident rights by maintaining confidentiality and promoting independence.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support individuals with memory care needs through patience and understanding.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in personal care homes or group homes.
- Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the importance of dignity in personal care.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Understanding of memory care principles and techniques for supporting individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Ability to provide direct support while fostering independence among clients.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
