Home Infusion Options is a full-service closed door specialty home infusion therapy pharmacy located in New Buffalo, MI. Home Infusion Options provides comprehensive and compassionate patient care to support patients in whatever they may need for their treatment. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for sterile compounding operations under the supervision of a Pharmacy Manager, to include cleanroom maintenance and documentation, staff training and testing, staff and production scheduling, and drug compounding. We are currently looking for a full time candidate in the pharmacy. This position does not include nights, weekends or holidays.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintaining compliance with USP 797 and 800
- Enforces policy on cleanroom protocol, testing, documentation, and remedial action
- Cleaning and maintenance of clean room in compliance with USP
- Check labels, compounding documents, and prescription for content
- Compounds sterile products
- Checks ancillary supplies
- Gathers and packs supplies
- Enters new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system and procedure
- Process prescription refills
- Generates delivery and equipment pick-up tickets
- Coordinates with the pharmacy team to ensure all medications needed are available for patient care
- Assists with inventory management and purchasing of related supplies
- Maintenance and record management pertaining to daily/weekly SOP’s
- Scheduling shipments and pickups with patients
- Completing deliveries for patients as needed
- Addressing any patient concerns
- Understanding all Policy and Procedures and following them
Competencies
- Strong knowledge base of FDA and USP requirements required
- Knowledge of local, state and other regulations
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
Required Education and Experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Michigan and maintains active state licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company or managed care environment required
- Experience in Pioneer a plus
- Maintain Continuing Education requirements
