PRN RN POSITION OPEN FOR NON-MEDICAL IN-HOME CARE FOR SENIORS
$28/hour
Objective: The PRN RN provides professional oversight of the agencies operations pertaining to non-clinical services, develops and updates the client’s Plan of Care, provides non-medical supervision to the in-home Caregivers and NA1’s and insures the provision of quality services that meet applicable state/federal guidelines.
General Responsibilities:
· Knowledge of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services/Department of Health and Services Regulation Licensing Rule for Home Care Agencies.
· Knowledge of North Carolina Board of Nursing rules on medication assistance in the clients’ home.
· Annual review of service area for reported active cases of Tuberculosis and completion of Screening Tool.
· Attend Staff Meetings and RN led Client Case meetings to ensure client’s needs are met.
· Take the lead in supportive services to caregivers and clients.
· Organize and prioritize daily, monthly and yearly calendar.
· Provide quality training to Caregivers as needed.
· Provide training to orientation class if training RN is not available to do so.

· Open and effective communication with all staff, caregivers and clients to promote positive outcomes in care.
· NC RN State License
Client Specific Responsibilities:
· Perform in home care consultations and develop a safe and effective Plan of Care for each client.
· Perform Quarterly Review of clients’ Plan of Care and update POC accordingly.
· Take the lead to ensure that all necessary paperwork/documents meet HISC’s policy and procedures along with state/federal licensing and/or regulations.
· Identify opportunities to increase client base and service hours.
· Coordinate services with other agencies (Home Health, Hospice) and documentation of such.
· Look for opportunities with clients and their families to educate on our services.
· Establish good working relationships with management, colleagues, franchise owners and staff.
· Report allegations of abuse/neglect to the client to Home Instead management, local state and/or federal agencies.
CAREGiver Specific/Assist the RN staff in:
· Report to Lead RN any competency issues of Caregivers.
· Provide pre-service and in-service training for Caregivers and staff as needed.
· Ensure that the Caregivers’ have demonstrated the competencies required for the clients to whom they are assigned.
· Take the lead on supervision of Caregiver’s according to state regulations and Home Instead Senior and Policies and Procedure.
· Evaluate/document the Caregivers abilities while caring for the client in their home.
· Ensure the Caregivers have the necessary paperwork, supplies and training to provide safe, effective care.
