Home Instead Care Professional (Caregiver)
Home Instead is looking for On-Call Caregivers in the Saint Joseph, MO area. Our On-Call Caregivers are on-call from 4 : 30pm Friday-8 : 00am Monday mornings, and earn a flat rate of pay for being on-call, as well as the hourly wage for any shift they work. This is a great option for college students, retirees, or anyone looking to supplement their income while doing fulfilling, meaningful work!
Qualifications to be a Caregiver :
- Compassion, patience, and empathy.
- Problem solving.
- Collaborative nature, ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous caregiving experience, either professionally OR as a family caregiver.
- Availability to work weekend shifts up to 12 hours in Saint Joseph, MO and some surrounding areas. (example shift times could be 8am-12pm, 8am-8pm, 5pm-9pm or overnight.)
- Valid U.S. Driver's License, Auto Insurance & a Reliable Personal Vehicle to transport clients.
- Pass a Criminal and Motor Vehicle Background Check
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift, push or pull 25lbs
- We are currently seeking non-smoking applicants.
A Day in the Life of a Caregiver :
As an integral part of your clients daily routine, you will provide companionship to your client, plan and prepare meals, and perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting and laundry. You will help your client maintain their independence, dignity and respect by assisting them with any personal care needs they have, such as bathing, dressing or incontinence care. You will also transport clients to appointments, provide medication reminders, and coordinate with their care team to ensure they are receiving care that meets the Home Instead standard.
