Home Instead, located in Forest Hills Queens, is seeking a Director of Nursing and Patient Services to oversee the quality of our care and ensure compliance with the Department of Health.
The Director of Nursing and Patient Services will supervise the Field Nurses and Home Health Aides as well as make periodic nursing assessments to review and revise procedures to meet the NYSDOH standards as necessary. The DPS will also train new hires, conduct in-services and perform client assessments as needed.
Position Qualifications:
Experience in Home Healthcare
Ability to work independently
Valid New York State RN License
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities:
Manage the development of educational programs through in-service and continuing education programs
Responsible for quarterly review and maintenance of accurate records in accordance with state and federal regulations
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and orientation of new nursing staff and all HHAs
Develop a plan of care for clients and assist nursing and other staff in the implementation thereof
Supervise, coach and support staff and HHAs responsible for the implementation of the designed care plan
Responsible for review admissions and implementation of the care plan, ensuing that are within the scope of home health regulations
Required experience 1 year in Homecare, and strong knowledge of LHCSA regulations.
Must be familiar with current NYSDOH standards
